An Autumn day, walking alongside Cauldshiels Loch. As with all places but especially here in the Borders, the trees give a tremendous display of colours. The fallen leaves and pine needles lay a soft blanket to cushion the feet.

The many smells in the air nourish and awaken memories from long ago. Sometimes there might be the smell of burning wood from a small campfire along the bank.

Wellingtons would be good on a really wet day and so would a flask of coffee. Whatever might be needed to keep you warm and dry (in the winter months) will be more than compensated for by the peace and tranquillity that you can experience by leaving the rest of the world behind. Just be in a world of your own for a day!
