It's almost too hard to see that this is actually a reflection in the water near St. Marys Loch way up the Yarrow valley in the Borders. The water was so calm that it really did look like a sheet of glass. Normally this water would be rippling and occasionally be seen to provide escape for small boats and windsurfers. It is though, a very cold stretch of water and far more dangerous than a short glance would have you believe. Having said that, this is a wonderful place to visit and enjoy. There is a cafe close at hand that has stood on the same spot for many years. That fact alone stands as a testament to the quality of service. Even cold, wet and windy days are great with a bowl of soup in your hand! |
